Job summary

Wilcox Medical Center in Kaua'i, part of Hawaii Pacific Health, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced acute care setting. The RN will perform assessments, planning, implementation and documentation while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role is part-time with rotating 8-hour shifts (FTE 0.6). Required: Hawaii RN license, BLS, ACLS; preferred: Bachelor's in Nursing.

Qualifications

  • Hawai'i RN license, BLS and ACLS required.
  • Three years of acute care RN experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's in Nursing; Cardiac/Imaging or Special Procedures experience; PALS optional.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation.
  • Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams in a busy acute care setting.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with standards.

Job description

Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua'i community with accessible quality health care. The largest medical center on Kaua'i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island’s Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawai'i. Wilcox is part of Hawai'i Pacific Health, one of the state’s leading health care systems and a not-for-profit health care organization with medical centers, clinics, physicians and other caregivers working together to create a healthier Hawai'i.

The Imaging department at Wilcox Health, recently named the Wilcox Family Imaging Center, is a full-service department providing routine and specialized imaging and/or therapeutic procedures for inpatient, outpatient and emergency patients. The department is staffed seven days a week, 24-hours-a-day. Board-certified physician radiologists provide quality care and timely interpretation of radiographic procedures. Services provided include General Radiology (X-rays), Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT or CT scan), Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear medicine, Echocardiography and Bone Densitometry.

As the Registered Nurse, you will provide professional nursing care to patients through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient care.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai'i Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Three (3) years recent Registered Nurse experience in any of the following acute care areas: med/surg, ICU, ED, Periop, and Special Procedures.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field. One (1) year of recent registered nurse experience in Cardiac/Imaging Services or Special Procedures. Current American Heart Association Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS).
