Job summary

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for ensuring nursing care quality by guiding a team and coordinating with physicians and support staff. The RN leads, teaches and supervises, applying independent judgment and effective communication.

Responsibilities include establishing collaborative relationships, delegating and evaluating patient care, and preparing patients for discharge, reporting to senior unit

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of nursing required.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan.
• AHA BLS required.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
• Delegates, assesses, provides and evaluates patient care.
• Provides and delegates patient care activities to team members.
• Monitors patient progress and prepares patient for discharge.
• Reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making activities.

Education

Graduation from a school of nursing required.
