Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital is seeking experienced ICU Registered Nurses for seasonal per diem roles in the Intensive Care Department. Positions are temporary assignments from October 2026 through March 2027, requiring two 12-hour shifts per week.

TVH offers exceptional pay and a bonus upon successful completion of assigned shifts. The ICU nurse will perform initial assessments, titrate vasoactive drugs, manage patients on mechanical ventilation, and interpret cardiac rhythms.

Qualifications

  • One (1) year Emergency or Critical Care experience in an acute care facility.
  • Registered Nurse with current California RN license.
  • NIHSS required within 3 months of hire.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA) certifications required.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and prioritizes the need for further assessment based on the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting and responses to any previous care.
  • Initiates discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate.
  • Maintains current competencies on emergency department equipment and protocols.

Temecula Valley Hospital continues to grow, and is excited about hiring experienced, Seasonal Per Diem Registered Nurses for our Intensive Care Department These seasonal positions are temporary assignments, working October 2026 through March 2027. TVH is offering exceptional pay, and a bonus for successful completion of assigned shifts. This position requires two 12-hour shifts per week.

Registered Nurse ICU

The ICU Registered Nurse performs initial assessment and documents appropriately for the level of care appropriate to the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, age development level, and cultural and religious orientation. Initiates discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate. Is able to calculate and titrate vasoactive drugs used in the ICU in response to changing patient condition. Is also able to care for patients receiving mechanical ventilation, i.e. assessment of effective ventilation, suctioning techniques, etc. Has the ability to interpret cardiac arrhythmias and intervene appropriately, including alerting physician to significant changes.

Qualifications
Essential Job Duties

Identifies and prioritizes the need for further assessment based on the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, desire for care and responses to any previous care. Initiates discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate. Is able to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results. Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring and identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately. The ER RN must be able to accurately assign triage categories using Emergency Severity Index. Is able to assist emergency room physician with diagnosis and interventional procedures, i.e., central lines, closed reductions, advanced airway management. Is competent to monitor the patient undergoing procedural sedation. Is competent to perform ACLS and PALS algorithms and protocols. Maintains current competencies on all Emergency Department equipment including defibrillator, pacer, infusion pumps, etc.

Job Requirements

One (1) year Emergency or Critical Care experience in an acute care facility

Registered Nurse with current California RN license

NIHSS required within 3 months of hire

BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA) certifications required
