Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse (RN) for wound care on a PRN schedule.   • Provide and coordinate patient care.

  • Document medical necessity accurately in the patient record.
  • Contribute to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Perform timely nursing quality improvement assessments.

Wound Care

The Wound Care Center provides a comprehensive approach of evaluation and management by physicians with specialized training in wound care. Patients receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy will have an evaluation and be managed by physicians trained in hyperbaric medicine and credentialed by the hospital in hyperbaric medicine.

How You’ll Contribute

You’ll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
What We’re Looking For
  • Applicants should have a current state RN license.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Two-three years of experience preferred
What You Will Do
  • Be responsible and accountable for providing and coordinating patient care.
  • Identifies and addresses patient’s needs and priorities through assessment, planning and collaboration with other health care providers.
  • Will execute physician orders and supervise the implementation of nursing interventions.
  • Will advocate for the patient representing the patient’s interests when illness prevents an individual from being physically or emotionally able to express their own feelings or thoughts.
  • Will be responsible to care through the outcomes of clinical results, patient satisfaction and acceptable cost.
