Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Vascular Access/IV Therapy specialty for the Bell Hospital location to join our night shift, full-time team. The role focuses on performing vascular access procedures, administering IV therapies, and delivering high-quality patient care within unit-based competencies.

Ideal candidates hold an ADN with a pathway to BSN within five years, have 2+ years of clinical nursing experience, and current Kansas RN licensure

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• ADN required; BSN within 5 years for ADN-hired nurses.
• 2+ years of experience as a Clinical Nurse.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Kansas or a compact license.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care through assessment, documentation, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Carry out unit-specific care plans for the target patient population.
• Coordinate care delivery and education with patients, families and health care team.
• Follow organizational policies to ensure safe patient care.

The Clinical Nurse II provides professional nursing care through assessment and accurate documentation, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation for the comfort and well-being of patients. Carries out a plan of care specific to unit competencies for the target patient population. Coordinates care delivery and education through collaboration with patient, family and all health care team providers to ensure safe, effective and quality patient care. Follows organizational policies in providing safe patient care. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education And Experience

• Associate Degree Nursing For ADN prepared nurses hired after February 24, 2017, must complete BSN degree by the fifth anniversary of employment as an RN with UKHA

Required Licensure And Certification

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
