Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for our Pre-op department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Pre-Op Holding RN, you will educate patients and families, mentor staff, and use clinical data to guide care. This role is part-time, day-shift, with differential pay and strong Adventist HealthCare values guiding daily practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX exam.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; PACU/CCU experience preferred.
• Current Maryland RN license.
• AHA BLS certification active.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and support best practices.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice.
• Use equipment and technology correctly and delegate non-nursing duties.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Perform literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care.

• Use equipment and technology correctly, to delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
