Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking an RN Unit Supervisor for the EmPATH Psychiatric Observation Unit on the night shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am). This full‑time role leads the unit, supports care quality, and guides staff to ensure safety and therapeutic care for psychiatric patients.

The position emphasizes clinical operations leadership, patient safety, and a commitment to Inova's care delivery model and People Priority.

Qualifications

• Certification - Basic Life Support.
• Licensure - Licensed Registered Nurse in Virginia.
• Experience - 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Education - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or Associate's Degree RN within 1 year of completing their BSN).

Responsibilities

• Staffing.
• Patient review and placement.
• Serve as a resource to Charge Nurse and staff.
• Responds to all events on units.
• Assists with orientation.
• Conducts chart and environmental audits per Joint Commission standards.
• Coaching and education of staff.
• Can act as Charge Nurse or take patients if needed.

Inova Fairfax Hospital is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated RN Unit Supervisor to join our EmPATH Psychiatric Observation Unit on the night shift. This is a full-time position with a 3 x 12-hour shift schedule (7:00 pm to 7:30 am). Minimum Qualifications:

• Certification - Basic Life Support; Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within 3 months of hire
• Licensure - Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Experience - 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
• Education - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or Associate's Degree RN within 1 year of completing their BSN)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Former psychiatric experience strongly preferred
