The Clinical Nurse II is responsible for the planning and delivery of family-centered patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with patient/family and other professional disciplines to create a partnership which ensures effective and efficient patient care delivery for the achievement of mutually desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization’s vision and mission while promoting and providing excellence in nursing care. This role is accountable and responsible for delivery of nursing care for all aged pediatric and neonatal patients requiring medical Advanced Life Support (ALS) or medical Critical Care Transport (CCT) under the supervision and in collaboration with a CHOC Children’s Physician. It is responsible for accurately assessing, attempting to restore and maintain the wellbeing of the ill and/or injured pediatric or neonatal patient during intrafacility or interfacility ALS or CCT transport. The role is also responsible for obtaining and maintaining competency in advanced scope of practice skills which include intubation, umbilical line placement, intraosseous insertion, needle thoracentesis, and resuscitation under the direction of the Transport Medical Director, Transport Clinical Director and Transport Clinical Manager.

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Medium - High energy level. Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient).
