ChristianaCare’s 18-bed Transitional Surgical Unit (TSU) provides a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where nurses collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional surgical patient care. The unit supports professional growth through a Clinical Ladder Program and ongoing education, with a focus on evidence-based practice and nursing excellence.

Compensation includes shift differentials and a comprehensive benefits package, with opportunities to develop advanced clinical skills

Qualifications

• BSN required, or commitment to obtaining a BSN within three years of hire
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Stepdown or Progressive Care nursing experience required
• Critical Care experience strongly preferred
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide care for higher-acuity TSU patients in a fast-paced, team-based environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Develop advanced assessment, critical thinking, and patient management skills on the TSU

Elevate Your Clinical Skills

Gain experience with a higher level of acuity in our TSU, which is associated with our Surgical Critical Care Complex. Develop advanced assessment, critical thinking, and patient management skills while caring for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring and support in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Requirements

Schedule

Full-Time Rotating Days/Midnights

• Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
• Night Shift: 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.

Weekend and holiday requirements follow departmental and organizational scheduling practices.

Hourly Pay Range: $42.11 - $67.37

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
