Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Surgical/Neuro Stepdown unit. The role offers 12-hour day shifts (7:00am–7:30pm) on a full-time schedule.

The RN will deliver direct patient care, coordinate with physicians, and mentor junior staff while upholding standards of care and patient privacy. A sign-on bonus of 10,000 is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Critical Care training or experience preferred.
• BLS certification required at hire; maintain current.
• ACLS certification 30 days after hire preferred; maintain current.
• Minimum one year of staff RN experience in acute care; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process.
• Direct patient/family teaching and guidance for other staff.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and document findings.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Overview

• Department: Surgical/Neuro Stepdown

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the DOU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current valid State Registered Nurse License
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Minimum of one-year experience as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $35.35 to $53.58. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
