Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Surgery Center Pre/Post team at 0.9 FTE. The role covers pre/postoperative nursing care in a hospital-based surgery center setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and RN licensed in the state.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association).
• One year of experience in procedural care or similar clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process to ensure safe, therapeutic care.
• Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision making to create a safe patient environment and strong patient experience.
• Assume circulator duties: time-outs, patient positioning, maintaining sterile environment, prepare OR, check inventory, document procedures.

Where You Will Work

Milwaukee, WI, United States

Centrally located in the south side of Milwaukee

• 18 Pre/Post Unit. covering bay - 4 Operating rooms -
• Come work for a Surgery Center that is hospital based - higher pay rate than stand alone surgery centers
• call rotation to cover Ophthalmology emergent cases

We’re Looking For

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• One year experience - and or procedural care

What You’ll Do

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
• Circulator role includes - time outs, positioning of patient, maintains sterile and safe environment, prepares the OR with necessary supplies, checks for inventory, and documents all aspects of the procedure
