Job description

Live the Mission: Full-time status and benefits in just 3 days each week! Fri - Sun, 12-hour shift position. This position will act as weekend supervisor for the SNF, supporting preparations for admitting residents. Communicate with families and residents to ensure high-quality care and customer service. Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, working alongside RN Unit Nurses as needed.

Must haves:

  • Experience in SNF, working with long-term and short-term stay residents and families
  • Familiar with Admissions processes for SNF
  • Pleasant bedside manner for residents and guests
  • Supportive and empowering approach with coworkers

Position Summary:

The RN Supervisor is responsible for coordinating patient care and services, promoting quality care through a collaborative process that monitors and evaluates services according to patient needs. Works with patients and families in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Currently licensed/registered in applicable State with an active RN license in good standing
  • Two (2) years’ nursing experience; geriatric nursing preferred
  • CPR certification upon hire or during orientation; must remain current during employment

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge in the field of practice
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary
  • Knowledge of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities
  • Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, policies, and procedures
  • Proficiency in all competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintain professional relationships with all associates and vendors
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
  • Follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Display integrity and professionalism, adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completing mandatory compliance training

Essential Functions:

  • Provide, manage, and coordinate patient care and services to promote the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being
  • Evaluate quality of patient care daily
  • Direct licensed staff and CNAs in prioritizing patient care needs and reporting requirements
  • Assess patients’ needs and develop care plans
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude
  • Assist in patient evacuation if needed
  • Maintain dependable, regular attendance
  • Use reasoning skills and good judgment
  • Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during work hours
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English
