Job summary

Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shift to deliver high-quality care across units with a focus on stroke patients. You will collaborate with physicians, therapists and support teams to implement care plans and ensure patient safety while maintaining compassionate, patient-centered service.

Ideal candidates hold Florida RN licensure, BLS and ACLS certifications, and have experience in acute care settings.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program and Florida license.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS or obtained within three months.
  • Experience in acute care and stroke care a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, competent bedside nursing care per policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure patient safety and quality.
  • Monitor stroke patients, participate in stroke alerts and CT preparation.
  • Maintain ongoing stroke knowledge with annual training.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN‑approved RN program.
  • Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
  • BLS (current upon hire)
  • ACLS, and/or required specialty training or course completion (or obtained within three months of employment) in required specialty.
  • Current Florida nursing license.
  • Must successfully pass any pre‑employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
Role and Responsibilities

Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing activities. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Assists the ICU nurse with telemedicine consult and physician examination/evaluation and transport of inpatient stroke alert to and from CT scan. Performs and documents the NIHSS and bedside swallow, assists with preparation of patient for Endovascular treatment as indicated. Provides care for stroke patients on the unit. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 8 hour online training.
