Inova Schar Cancer Institute’s Stem Cell Transplant Clinic in Falls Church, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN infusion role. The clinic operates 7:00 am–7:00 pm, Monday–Friday, with weekend call coverage options for PRN staff.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN clinical experience minimum.
• Education: BSN or ADN – if ADN then complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required
• Must obtain Chemo card within 3 months of hire
• RN licensed and eligible to practice in Virginia
• Proficient in English; strong verbal and written communication; proficient computer skills

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination.
• Deliver safe and therapeutic infusion care in a patient/family centered manner.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care from admission to discharge.
• Educate patients and families about infusion procedures, meds, and expectations.

Job Description

Inova Schar Cancer Institute’s Stem Cell Transplant Clinic is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the team in a PRN capacity for our Stem Cell Transplant Infusion Clinic. Our Infusion Clinic is open 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, Monday – Friday and with weekend call coverage options, especially for PRN team members. Our nurses work 12-hour shifts.

The Registered Nurse provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams. Consistently provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care and conducting all patient care in a patient/family centered manner. Integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Determines processes for delivery of care from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• Education: BSN or ADN - If ADN then complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required
• Must obtain Chemo card within 3 months of hire
• RN licensed, and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others. Proficient computer skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous chemotherapy infusion experience strongly preferred.
