Primary City/State: Brush, Colorado Department Name: Med/Surg-Hosp Work Shift: Varied Job Category: Nursing Help move health care into the future. In this role you would nursing operations across all departments by attending huddles, assisting staff, managing staffing needs, and addressing/escalating concerns as needed. You will oversee shift operations, including ensuring meal breaks and completing critical equipment checks. This role functions as a house supervisor for our rural setting, supporting Med-Surg, WIS, and ED, with opportunities to build leadership experience. This is a part time, 24 hour a week position (2x12 hours). Shifts can fall any day of the week and are on every third weekend and every third holiday rotation. This role sounds like the one for you.

Position Summary

This position provides operational supervision of campus workflow, resource utilization and management, and operations for all clinical and non-clinical departments during assigned shift. Responds to facility emergency situations, initiates disaster notification processes, facilitates patient placement and communicates with media.

CORE FUNCTIONS
  • Assess overall staffing effectiveness and adequate throughput by ensuring the appropriate number, competency and skill mix of staff are involved in the provision of needed health care services according to census, acuity.
  • Respond to and assess all codes and other crisis situations, implement plan, and evaluate response. Understand and utilize the appropriate chain of command as needs arise.
  • Serve as a professional resource to patients, families, physicians, and staff by prioritizing, mediating and resolving concerns. Interpret organizational policies and facilitate patient-centered care.
  • Interpret and ensure regulatory compliance of business entity policy and procedures. Provide expertise and serve as a resource to committees and departments.
  • Demonstrate an expectation and support for continuous quality improvement.
  • Function as a role model and encourage staff to participate in their own development.
  • May be responsible for selection, orientation, on-boarding, and retention.
  • This position must know the resources needed to resolve problems and when to use them in order to facilitate facility operations, particularly during off hours.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of nursing and healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Requires a current RN license in state of practice.
  • Requires certification for BLS.
  • Must possess at least 1-2 years of clinical experience relevant to patient population.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills of specialty area.
  • Requires critical thinking, communication, influence, decision-making, analytical, and flexibility skills to make optimal decisions based on multiple variables and desired outcomes.
  • Requires the ability to balance clinical skills with supervisory authority.
  • Must have the ability to consider the ultimate impact of decisions on the unit.
  • Must have the ability to practice skills according to department and professional standards and quality requirements.
  • Requires New Leader Experience certification within one year.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Estimated Pay Range: $42.56 - $70.93 / hour Banner Health is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted compensation range is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay Banner Health in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. This range is based on possible base salaries and does not include the value of our total rewards package. Actual pay determined at offer will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location, along with a review of current employees in similar roles to ensure pay equity is achieved and maintained.
