Job summary

TidalHealth is seeking a SANE RN to provide specialized medical care to survivors of abuse, neglect, violence or sexual assault. The role emphasizes holistic, compassionate care and standard exam procedures through a structured treatment plan.

The SANE works as part of an interdisciplinary team, requiring an active RN license, BLS, and within 6 months of hire, PALS/ACLS certification, plus at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• PALS and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• A minimum of one year experience as an Emergency Department RN.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical treatment to survivors of abuse, neglect, violence or sexual assault.
• Advocate for survivors and provide expert medical testimony in court if called upon by legal professionals.
• Perform standardized examinations, assessments, testing and treatment.

SANE RN Position Summary

A SANE, or a sexual assault nurse examiner, is a registered nurse who possesses the specialized training, education and certification necessary to provide medical treatment to survivors of abuse, neglect, violence or sexual assault. The primary goal of a SANE nurse is to provide holistic, compassionate care to survivors through a standardized course of examination, assessment, testing and treatment. The SANE nurse may serve as advocates for survivors and provide expert medical testimony in court if called upon by legal professionals.

SANE RN Position Requirements

• Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state ofpermanent residency.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• PALS and ACLS required within 6 months of hire
• A minimum ofone years experience as an Emergency Department RN.

SANE RN Work Schedule

• May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy.
• Scheduled off at least three holidays per year.
• Required to work weekends per unit need.
• Expected to work overtime on occasion.
