Job summary

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center in Colorado seeks a Registered Nurse to join our preoperative team. You will conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments, coordinate care between patients, surgeons, and supporting departments, and guide patients on medications and protocols before surgery.

Ideal candidates hold an ADN (BSN preferred) and current Colorado RN licensure with CPR, ACLS, and PALS, ensuring safe, patient-centered perioperative care in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Colorado RN license.
• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Experience in preoperative assessment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough preoperative assessments of patients' current health.

• Utilize the Surgical Risk Calculator to assess and communicate surgical risks.
• Provide clear guidance on preoperative medications, arrival times, and protocols.
• Directly provide patient care while delegating tasks to team members.
• Collaborate with the care team to solve problems and improve outcomes.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of an Associate's Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program. Bachelors (BSN) is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must maintain current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.
• Must maintain current CPR certification.
• Must maintain current ACLS certification.
• Must maintain current PALS
