Job summary

Methodist Hospital is seeking an experienced RN to join the Rapid Response Team (RRT) to respond to Code Blues, Heart/Stroke/Sepsis alerts, and other emergencies. You will identify at-risk patients and collaborate with bedside nurses to prevent deterioration, while teaching and guiding less experienced staff.

The role emphasizes proactive rounds, clinical support, and building trust through teaching during and after events, in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification required within 90 days of start date.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of start date.
• RN licensure is required to practice.
• Degree: Associate, Bachelor, or RN diploma.

Responsibilities

• Respond to RRT, Code Blues, Heart/Stroke/Sepsis alerts and emergencies.
• Perform surveillance to identify patients at risk and collaborate with bedside nurses.
• Educate and support nurses during and after events to build confidence.

Job Summary

The RN Rapid Response Team (RRT) will respond to all RRT’s, Code Blues, Heart Alerts, Stroke Alerts, Sepsis alerts and any other patient care emergency. The RN RRT will perform surveillance by identifying the patients at risk for complications or becoming seriously ill by using proactive approach, making rounds frequently to collaborate with the bedside nurses as part of consultation without intimidating the bedside nurses. Consistent and routine presence of RN RRT will provide nurse’s support, clinical knowledge and expertise to build trust and familiarity amongst each other. The RN RRT should take the role of teacher both during and after the event in order to best help the inexperienced nurses.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
• No Travel Required
• 3 years experience required
• Must have 3-5 years of recent experience in an ICU or an ER.
