Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Oncology Department. The RN will educate patients and families, mentor staff, and support evidence-based care in a faith-based, mission-driven environment.

Requirements include an accredited nursing degree, NCLEX, Maryland RN license, and BLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by specialty. Part-time role with 24 hours weekly, 7am-7pm shifts, rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while also striving to advance their own knowledge and skills through careful consideration of feedback and guidance provided by more senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adheres to ANA standards of practice, and exemplifies Adventist HealthCare values as they fulfill our nursing mission and vision.
• Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.

• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.

Pay Range:

$37.00 - $55.00
