Hartford HealthCare's St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health Center in Westport, CT, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Psych Float for direct patient care of behavioral health patients in a dynamic setting.

The per diem daytime role emphasizes bio-psychosocial assessments, care planning, and collaboration with the treatment team to meet master treatment goals through group sessions and individualized nursing plans.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Experience in an acute psychiatric setting preferred.
• Connecticut RN license required.
• BLS certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments.
• Develop a nursing plan of care per master treatment plan.
• Attend treatment team conferences to plan goals.
• Implement nursing plan for assigned patients.
• Co-lead group therapy sessions for patients.
• Evaluate patient responses and revise plans.
• Collaborate with treatment team on goals and interventions.
• Conduct hospital policy–based patient assessments.
• Document a comprehensive plan of nursing care.
• Provide direct patient care per physician orders.

About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Psych Float position involves providing direct patient care to behavioral health patients in a dynamic environment. This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about mental health and enjoy working with diverse patient populations.

What You’ll Do

• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments.


• Develop a nursing plan of care consistent with the master treatment plan.


• Participate in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals.


• Implement nursing plan of care for assigned patients.


• Conduct and/or co-lead group therapy sessions for patients.


• Evaluate patient's response to interventions and revise nursing plan as needed.


• Collaborate with the treatment team to revise goals and interventions.


• Perform appropriate assessments of patients per hospital policy.


• Develop and document a comprehensive plan of nursing care.


• Provide direct patient care according to physician's orders.

Requirements

Education:

• Associate's Degree required, Bachelor Degree preferred

Experience:

• Experience in an acute care psychiatric setting preferred

Licenses & Certifications:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health required


• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within 60 days of hire
