Job summary

St. Mary's Health Care System in Georgia is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department Night Shift.

This role operates within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team delivering evidence-based patient care across the ED, including care for infants to geriatrics with a focus on Cardiology and Stroke care. The RN will assess patients, develop and adjust care plans, and work with the Care Team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia RN license.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
• Recent refresher course within the past 6 months if not practicing in 5 years.
• Prior experience in preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients in the Emergency Department and modify care plans as needed.

Position Purpose

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department RN works in a collaborative environment at St Mary’s Health Care System to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. A Registered Nurse RN is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. What you will do

• Emergency Department is a 25 bed unit that cares for all patients from infants to geriatrics specializing in Cardiology and Stroke care.
• Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise.
• RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.
• The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame.
• The RN provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found by the Board to be substantially equivalent to the programs in Georgia.
• Successful completion of a refresher course within the past 6 months if nursing practice has not occurred within the past 5 years.
• Prior experience in preferred.
