Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Registered Nurse RN for the PRN Float Pool at night, with a BSN and a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience. This position involves floating to Med Surg, Telemetry, and Post Acute units within a Magnet-recognized system in Louisiana.

Applicants must hold a Louisiana RN license or be eligible, with BLS and ACLS within 6 months of hire. Float/travel experience and specialty certifications are encouraged. Flexible hours and self-scheduling available.

Qualifications

  • BSN required; current Louisiana RN license or eligibility.
  • Minimum 2 years acute care RN experience; multi-specialty experience preferred.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Preferred: CCRN/TCRN or Stroke Nursing certifications; float pool/travel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide RN care across Med Surg, Telemetry, and Post Acute as part of float pool.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Document care and coordinate with families and care teams.

Registered Nurse RN PRN Float Pool - NIGHTS
  • Float Pool Tiers - Tier 1: Med Surg Only - Pay Rate $38 plus shift differentials
  • Tier 2: Med Surg & Med Tele Only - Pay Rate $40 plus shift differentials
  • Tier 3: Med Surg, Med Tele & Post Acute (Step Down /PCU) - Pay Rate $42 plus shift differentials
  • Flexible Hours

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience required. Prior experience in multiple specialty areas strongly preferred (e.g., trauma, neuro, cardiac, surgical, or telemetry).
  • Licensure/Certification: Current Louisiana RN license (or eligibility for licensure). Current BLS ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Specialty certification(s) in areas such as CCRN, TCRN, or Stroke Nursing (NIHSS) encouraged. Previous Float Pool or travel nursing experience. Demonstrated success in working across multiple clinical settings.
