Job summary

Signature HealthCARE is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Kinston facility. You will provide direct nursing care, administer medications, monitor residents, and lead nursing staff during shifts. We value compassion, teamwork, and high-quality resident care in a supportive setting.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, and an active RN license. Knowledge of EHR systems and strong communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Current, active RN license in the state of practice.
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
  • Minimum one (1) year of clinical nursing experience; long-term care experience preferred.
  • Experience in a supervisory or charge nurse role, preferred.
  • Strong clinical observation, medication administration, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State long-term care regulations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound clinical judgment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, including medication administration, wound care, and skilled nursing procedures.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and ensure comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
  • Supervise and direct nursing assistants and medication aides during the assigned shift in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
  • Monitor and observe residents’ physical and emotional status; notify the attending physician and responsible party of any change in condition.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualized resident care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation per facility policy and procedure.
  • Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges according to established procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, staff education, and regulatory surveys as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or designee.

How You Will Make a Difference
