Job summary

MetroHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West) at the Main Campus. The role covers day and night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays, in a 14-bed unit that uses advanced telemetry and line care. You will work with PCNAs, interns, providers, PT, and OT to deliver high-quality patient care.

Required Ohio RN license, BLS, ACLS, and experience as outlined. MetroHealth offers tuition reimbursement, certification incentives, and medical/dental insurance

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on the Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West)
• Collaborate with PCNAs, interns, providers, PT, OT
• Utilize and interpret EKGs, manage lines and vents as needed
• Support bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies)
• Demonstrate critical thinking, delegation, and time management

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Congestive Heart Failure
• COPD
• DKA
• Sepsis

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• EKG interpretation
• Central Line care
• Rescue Bi-pap, High Flow Oxygen, Trach/Vents,
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies)
• Critical thinking, delegating, time management

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT, OT

Number of beds on unit:

• 14 beds
