Job summary

Join Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center as a night shift, full-time Post Partum Couplet Care Registered Nurse in Westwood, NJ. You will care for mothers and newborns, supervise care by other staff, and coordinate unit activities with the team.

Required are NJ RN licensure, NRP, BLS, and 1–2 years of Mother/Baby or Med-Surg experience; completion of AWHONN fetal monitoring course within 6 months is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited program in nursing.
• NRP Certification.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• RN with the New Jersey Board of Nursing or an RN Multistate License from the NCL is required.
• 1-2 years Mother/Baby and/or Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Completed basic AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• The RN Post-Partum Staff functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes.
• This position directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.
• This position effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• The RN Staff Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager.

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care or the American Red Cross (ARC).
• Registered Nurse (RN) with the New Jersey Board of Nursing or an RN Multistate License from the NCL is required.
• 1-2 years Mother/Baby and/or Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Completed basic AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• OB nursing certification preferred.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
