Job summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking capable Main Operating Room nursing staff to join a 26‑room, 24/7 surgical suite serving a wide range of specialties. Monday–Friday shifts with on‑call requirements, cutting‑edge technology, and a team‑oriented culture drive patient care and career growth.

Applicants must graduate from an accredited nursing program with NH licensure eligibility and BLS certification on hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
• RN license or eligibility in New Hampshire.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
• Monitor changes in patient status and modify the plan of care or escalate as needed.
• Advocate for patients and uphold autonomy in decision-making and informed consent.
• Mentor colleagues to advance nursing practice and the profession.
• Communicate effectively with the care team and family members.
• Prioritize and organize time to optimize patient outcomes.
• Engage in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and research at the local level.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
• Utilizes critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or to elevate to the care team as necessary.
• Practices in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics to advocate for patients, uphold their autonomy in decision-making, ensure informed consent and assist patients in families in expressing self-determination.
• Actively seeks feedback and acts to improve performance.
• Engages in the governance of practice.
• Manages interpersonal relationships for self and with others.
• Mentors colleagues for the advancement of nursing practice and the profession.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required upon hire.
