Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The 20-bed Same Day Surgery Unit requires a minimum of 2 years acute or critical care experience, ADN is required with BSN preferred. Full-time, rotating shifts; on-call is required and will be reviewed during interview.

Shift hours are 5:00am–7:30pm, with 8- or 9-hour shifts and no weekends/holidays. VA or compact state license in good standing is required.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN or higher preferred.
• Minimum 2 years acute or critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in the PACU.
• Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans; deliver treatments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to monitor progress and adjust care.
• Educate patients and families and support during recovery.
