Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking a Recovery Room Registered Nurse (RN) for PACU PRN roles. You will provide high-quality, acute-care post-operative care in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a dedicated team to support patient safety and outcomes.

The role requires Florida RN licensure (or compact with license by 60 days), a Nursing Diploma/ASN (BSN preferred) and BLS certification. Prior acute-care experience and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Licensure as a Florida RN or eligible compact license; active FL RN within 60 days of hire.
  • Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and strong interpersonal communication; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate post-operative patient care.
  • Instruct patients and families on medications and treatment instructions.
  • Maintain and review patient records, posting tests and examination results.
  • Administer medications per physician orders.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Recovery Room Registered Nurse for our PACU. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a high acuity environment. What you will do in this role:
  • You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of post-operative patients.

  • You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.

  • You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.

  • You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

Requirements:
  • Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.

  • Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.

  • Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.

  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
