Job summary

Atrium Health Lake Norman PACU in Cornelius, NC seeks a registered nurse to join its Perioperative Services team, coordinating and delivering care in the PACU and collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and teammates to ensure safe, high-quality patient recovery after surgery.

This full-time role offers 36 hours per week, with a Mon-Fri schedule and 7:00–19:30 shifts plus weeknight and weekend call.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN license for the practicing state.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Experience in PACU/CCU/ED preferred; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care in the PACU using nursing processes.
  • Lead with evidence-based practice to ensure safety and optimal patient experience across the continuum.

Our team collaborates closely with skilled surgeons, anesthesiologists, and Advocate Health teammates to deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care. We specialize in general surgery, orthopedics, Urology, and Gynecology. You'll be part of a supportive environment that values teamwork, clinical excellence, and continuous learning. We are committed to ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care from pre-op to recovery.

We’re Looking For
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Previous PACU, Critical Care or Emergency Department experience required
  • ACLS preferred

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
