Job summary

UT Health East Texas in Tyler, TX seeks a Night Shift PRN PACU RN to provide compassionate post‑anesthesia care. The RN will apply the nursing process, monitor patients, and collaborate with the surgical team.

Requirements include ADN, Texas RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS within 90 days, trauma cert within 1 year, and ASPAN standards; PACU/ICU/ER experience preferred.

Qualifications

• ADN or higher required.
• Active Texas RN license.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Trauma certification (TNCC/ATLS/TCAR) within 1 year of hire.
• Maintain knowledge of ASPAN Standards.
• PACU/ICU/ER experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The RN provides and directs patient care using the nursing process for a group of patients over a designated time frame.
• Provide post-anesthesia care in the PACU setting and monitor patient recovery.
• Collaborate with surgeons and the perioperative team to ensure safe, timely care.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)


• Must maintain current Texas RN License


• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care


• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certified


• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certified (within 90 days of hire)


• Trauma Certification Course (TNCC, ATLS, TCAR within 1 year of hire)


• Maintain knowledge of ASPAN Standards

Preferred Job Requirements:

• PACU, ICU, ER, or other acceptable acute care experience
