Job summary

MercyOne in Iowa is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Orthopedic & Trauma team. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care for orthopedic, trauma, post-surgical, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS required for telemetry-capable units.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Care for orthopedic, trauma, post-surgical, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients.
• Administer medications and treatments safely.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, care managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families throughout their care journey.
• Coordinate discharge planning and transitions of care.
• Supervise and support LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other team members.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
