Job summary

Avera Majestic Bluffs/Avera Sister James Care Center is seeking an RN for night shift nursing care. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, coordinating with physicians and the health care team to deliver high-quality resident support.

Responsibilities include developing care plans, educating residents and families, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Sign-on bonus up to $30,000 may be available; benefits and ongoing training are offered.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident care by reviewing physician orders and coordinating with the care team
• Develop and update nursing care plans and interventions
• Educate residents and families about conditions and medications

• Maintain a safe and clean care environment adhering to policies and procedures
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge planning
• Supervise and coordinate nursing staff as assigned

The pay range for this position is listed below. Actual pay rate dependent upon experience.

$24.50 - $48.50

Position Highlights

• May be eligible for $30,000 sign on bonus!

Hours

Night shift: 6pm-6:30am; Every 3rd weekend/holiday, 72hrs/2wks

Student Loan Repayment:

This position may be eligible for Avera's Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money. Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster.

LPN pay scale:

$24.50 - 28.63 -33.25

RN pay scale:

$32.50- 40.00 - 48.00

A Brief Overview

Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends to understand residents conditions, medications, and self-care skills; noting changing conditions and needs; re-evaluating care objectives.

What You Will Do

• Provides resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team; coordinating with other healthcare providers; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends; conferring with physicians.
• Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining residents; documenting residents physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; conferring with family and friends; developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions, schedules, and timetables.
• Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing resident care goals; instructing resident, family, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions; providing information and resources.
• Evaluates resident's care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against resident care standards; reviewing resident's records; noting changing conditions and needs; re-evaluating care objectives; modifying nursing care plan.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.
• Keeps resident care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Keeps resident care supplies ready by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items.
• Coordinates admissions, discharges and transfers to and from the facility.
• Directs, plans and coordinates workflow of nursing assistants and other nursing personal.
• Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership.
