Job summary

Windham Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our patient-centered care team in a collaborative, high-acuity environment. Under the Nurse Manager, you will apply evidence-based practice and nursing process to develop and implement individualized plans of care for patients and families.

You will work with interdisciplinary teams, monitor progress, administer IV therapy, and educate patients while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Current CT RN licensure and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification required or obtained within the first 3 months of employment.
• ACLS required for ED, CCU, and designated staff in ACU/PACU and Endo; strongly recommended for cross-trained staff.
• NNR required for OB.
• Acute care hospital experience preferred.
• IV skill preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition.
• Administer IV therapy and manage equipment.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge needs.

Job Description

Registered nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient-centered care model in a richly diverse workspace. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital, and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse, through knowledge and ability, uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care that includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing direct patient care, coordinating with interdisciplinary team members, monitoring patient progress, managing IV therapy and equipment, educating patients and families, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of nursing process and customer service principles.
• National certification in specialty preferred.
• Acute care hospital experience preferred.
• IV skill preferred.
• Secondary language skills preferred.

Licensure / Certification

• Currently certified in BLS or completion during the first three months of employment.
• ACLS required for ED, CCU, and designated staff in ACU/PACU and Endo.
• ACLS strongly recommended for staff cross trained to these areas.
• NNR required for OB.

Must possess current CT RN licensure and be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
