Job summary

Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ, is hiring a day shift, full-time Operating Room Registered Nurse.

This role plans, directs and evaluates perioperative nursing care from preoperative through postoperative phases to ensure patient safety and continuity of care. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available; RN licensure in New Jersey and ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have RN NJ License.
• Current state Registered Nurse license.
• Licensed to practice professional nursing in New Jersey.
• Continuing education in the OR nursing field.
• Minimum of 2 years OR experience.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, direct and evaluate direct and indirect nursing care for the surgical patient.
• Provide perioperative nursing from preoperative to postoperative evaluation ensuring continuity of care.

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities

• This position is responsible for the planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to the surgical Patient.
• This nursing care ranges from preoperative intervention to postoperative evaluation. It is a practice designed to meet a patient’s needs through the nursing process, ensuring continuity of care during the surgical experience.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Must have RN NJ License
• Current state Registered Nurse license
• Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of New Jersey and must be familiar with the Basic Nursing Performance Standards as Outlined in the New Jersey Nurse Practice Act.
• Evidence of continuing education in the field of OR nursing
• 2 years minimum as OR experience.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Pediatric advanced life support (PALS)

• Certification in specialty

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
