Job summary

SriMatrix Health is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a Level II Trauma Center in Chico, CA. This travel contract (13 weeks) offers day shifts (8-hour) with possible float between the outpatient center and main OR to support the surgical team and ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate has an active California RN license, current BLS, and EPIC EMR experience, with at least 2 years in the OR.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a Level II Trauma Center with a focus on outpatient surgery services. The RN will provide perioperative nursing care, support surgical procedures, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. Candidates may be required to float between the outpatient surgery center and main operating room as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Circulate surgical cases in the operating room
• Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and monitoring
• Maintain sterile techniques and ensure compliance with infection control standards
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and healthcare teams
• Accurately document patient care and surgical procedures using EPIC EMR
• Monitor patient safety and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning when applicable
• Float to the main operating room as needed

Requirements

• Active California RN License
• Current BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS Certification
• PALS Certification
• Experience in Level II Trauma Center settings
• Outpatient Surgery Center experience
