Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced RN to join the Surgical Services Float Pool supporting Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center region. The role involves providing highly professional nursing care, with opportunities to rotate across Wake region ORs from Winston-Salem to other partner centers.

The position requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, NC RN licensure, BCLS certification, and preferred CNOR; prior OR experience strongly encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of one year Operating Room experience or participation in a post-graduate program.
  • Three years of experience strongly preferred.
  • Refresher course required for nurses who have not worked in an Operating Room for five years or more.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
  • BCLS required.
  • CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to ensure quality patient care throughout the episode of care.
  • Ensures complete, accurate and timely computerized communication of patient information.
  • Demonstrates cost containment activities.
  • Communicates to the team, co-workers, patients and family members in an effective, positive, and professional manner.
  • Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance and for professional growth and development.

In this position, you will support the Wake region ORs (Winston-Salem, Bermuda Run, North Wilkesboro, Elkin, High Point, Lexington). Job Summary

Renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patient. Provides direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation). Directs and supervises other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with unit standards of care.

What You'll Need
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
