Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, VA is seeking experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses to join our OR teams. We offer full-time, part-time, and PRN positions with day, evening, and night shifts.

Minimum 1 year of direct OR RN experience required. BSN or ADN; Virginia RN license; BLS certification. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available for eligible candidates. Opportunities for CNOR certification and a clinical ladder are available.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing.
• If RN has ADN; must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Licensed in Virginia as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments in the OR setting.
• Formulates individualized perioperative care plans based on assessments.
• Supports and empowers patients and families through the perioperative continuum.
• Advocates for patients’ rights and collaborates with the surgical team to resolve issues.

Education

BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing

This role requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse. Sign on Bonus & Relocation bonus is available for eligible candidates.

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities:

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.
  

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements:

• Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Education: BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• License: Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification: Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience scrubbing
• Level 1 trauma experience
• AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion and/or CNOR certificate
