Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital is seeking an Oncology RN to join the In-Patient Oncology Unit in Beckley, WV. This role focuses on chemotherapy administration, symptom management, pain control and comprehensive patient education.

The Oncology Unit provides compassionate, patient-centered care for adults with cancer diagnoses and hematologic conditions, with emphasis on documentation, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license required.
• Associates or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
• Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.

The Oncology Unit at Raleigh General Hospital provides compassionate, patient-centered care to adult patients undergoing treatment for various cancer diagnoses and hematologic conditions. This specialized unit focuses on delivering comprehensive oncology services, including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, pain control, blood product administration, palliative support, and patient/family education.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse, RNwho excels in this role:

• Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
