Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, Idaho, is seeking an experienced RN to join our Obstetrics Float Pool. This full-time role covers Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and NICU across Boise, Nampa, and Ontario campuses, offering clinical variety, autonomy, and meaningful impact for mothers and babies.

You’ll participate in onboarding and ongoing professional development, with a structured orientation to navigate multiple hospitals and levels of care.

Qualifications

• Idaho or multistate RN license required; Idaho license within 60 days if using a multistate license.
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience preferred.
• Willing to obtain Oregon RN license within 90 days of start date.
• BLS certification required.
• Willing to obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Willing to obtain PALS, STABLE and NCC-EFM certifications within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care across Labor, Delivery, Postpartum, and NICU settings.
• Expand clinical expertise across multiple hospitals and units in Idaho and Oregon.
• Perform comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments to guide individualized patient care.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans that promote exceptional outcomes and patient-centered care.
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring progress.
• Educate patients and families to support recovery, wellness, and successful transitions of care.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and fellow caregivers to deliver coordinated care.
• Communicate patient status and care plans through verbal handoffs and clinical documentation.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with standards.
• Utilize clinical equipment and technology safely to support patient care.

You have built a strong clinical practice and are looking for an opportunity to expand your impact. As an experienced nurse in our Obstetric Float Pool, you'll provide care across southwestern Idaho and eastern Oregon in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and NICU settings, making a meaningful difference for mothers, newborns, and families during some of life's most significant moments.

You’ll practice alongside highly skilled teams at our Boise, Idaho Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU, our Nampa, Idaho Level III Trauma Center with a Level II NICU, and our Ontario, Oregon campus, gaining valuable experience across diverse clinical environments and varying levels of maternal and neonatal acuity. Qualifications

• You currently hold an Idaho or multistate RN license. If youhold amultistate license, you are required to obtain your Idaho license within 60 days.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery preferred.

• You are willing to obtain an RN license in the state of Oregon within 90 days of start date.

• You have your Basic Life Support (BLS)

• You are willing to obtain your Advance Cardiovascular Life Support for HealthCare Provider (ACLS) certification and NRP within 6 months of hire

• You are willing to obtain PALS, STABLE and NCC-EFM certifications within one year of hire date
