Job summary

Carroll Hospital, part of LifeBridge Health, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Clinical Decisions Unit to provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process. You will collect health data, collaborate with care teams, and support safe, patient-centered outcomes.

Responsibilities include assessing and documenting, applying the nursing process, communicating with patients and families, coordinating discharge planning, ensuring patient safety, administering medications, and mentoring staff

Qualifications

• Current Maryland RN license (or eligibility).

Responsibilities

• Assess, collect, and document patient health information while maintaining privacy, dignity, and a therapeutic patient relationship.
• Apply the nursing process and principles of growth and development to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure care plans are understood and implemented.
• Coordinate patient care resources, discharge planning, and collaborative interventions to address changes in patient conditions and outcomes.
• Monitor, document, and report critical values, variances, and patient status changes, utilizing established escalation and outreach protocols.
• Promote patient safety by preventing hospital-acquired infections, reducing falls, minimizing restraint use, and adhering to infection control practices.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with policies, medication reconciliation requirements, and the Five Rights of Medication Administration.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, evidence-based practices, National Patient Safety Goals, and accreditation requirements.
• Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, accountability, and leadership while promoting efficient patient flow and care transitions.
• Foster teamwork and professional development by mentoring colleagues, supporting staff, adapting to change, and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
