Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Observation unit located in Florence, Kentucky. Shift: Night shift, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am; Full-time, 36 hours per week.

Job Description

The licensed registered nurse is responsible for providing evidence‑based clinical care to designated patients using the nursing process. This includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care according to ethical and cultural standards and nursing best practices. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes and delegates tasks appropriately to licensed and unlicensed team members. The RN demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every encounter with patients, families, visitors, and staff regardless of cultural background.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical care to observation unit patients following established protocols. Collaborate with care teams. Delegate responsibilities. Monitor patient status and report changes. Document care accurately. Maintain professional ethical conduct.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Must hold a Compact (multi‑state) license in the primary state of residence or be licensed in the state where the work is performed.
  • Meet contact hour requirements for licensure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, policies and competence in medication calculations.
  • Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area.
  • Able to critically think and problem‑solve in routine and emergency situations.
