Job summary

Research Medical Center in Kansas City area is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Neuro ICU. The role involves delivering care per provider orders, documenting in medical records, and educating patients and families on conditions and treatments.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes. Qualified RNs must hold an RN license with a Diploma, ACLS/BCLS certifications, and TNCC or equivalent trauma training within 12 months.

Qualifications

  • ACLS and BCLS certifications required or obtainable within specified timelines.
  • RN licensure as a registered nurse with a diploma or equivalent.
  • Trauma care credentials or completion of TNCC within 1 year of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
  • Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Teaches patients and families about condition, status, treatment plan, medications and follow-up.
  • Translates medical terminology for clear patient understanding and self-management.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to coordinate and tailor patient treatment plans.

Job Summary and Qualifications
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
  • Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance the exceptional care provided to patients.
  • Manages the quality of care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Registered Nurse Diploma
  • Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse, or Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
