Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking a Post-Partum Registered Nurse to provide expert clinical care for mothers and mom/baby pairs in a high-acuity setting. You will support a collaborative team, uphold patient-centered care, and participate in ongoing nursing initiatives within the Mom Baby Department.

The role requires Florida RN licensure, a nursing diploma or ASN (BSN preferred), and BLS; NRP is required within 6 months of hire. Acute care experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Florida RN license or Compact license with active FL license within 60 days of hire.
• Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Prior acute care nursing experience is strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification required; NRP within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Strong clinical judgement and patient-centered communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care for mothers and mom/baby pairs.
• Educate patients and families on medications and treatment plans.
• Maintain and review patient records, posting tests and results.
• Administer medications as ordered by physicians.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are seeking a Post-Partum Registered Nurse for our Mom Baby Department. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a high acuity environment. What you will do in this role:

• You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of mothers and/or mom/baby couplets following delivery/birth.
• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

Requirements:

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
