Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide nursing care across Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units. The role requires floating to multiple hospitals, night shifts (7pm–7am), and a minimum of one year of recent inpatient RN experience.

BSN is preferred or required within five years of hire. Licensure in SC or compact state and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred or required within five years.
  • 1 year of recent inpatient RN experience.
  • Current SC RN license or multi-state compact license.
  • American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care following SC Nurse Practice Act and established standards.
  • Float to Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units across four hospitals.
  • Work every other weekend with rotating holiday coverage.
  • Maintain patient records and communicate effectively with the care team.

7pm - 7am full-time. Must have at least a year or more of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience.

Job Summary:

To provide nursing care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. To apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

T he RN MRP-System position is required to float to Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units at all 4 hospitals; work every other weekend; provide holiday coverage as defined in assigned rotating MRP Holiday Package.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing. BSN preferred or required within five (5) years of hire date. Current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in the same Service Line/Specialty will not be required to complete BSN within five (5) years of transfer date. Effective July 1, 2022, current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in a different Service Line/Specialty will be required to complete BSN within five (5) years of transfer date.

Experience:

1 year of recent inpatient nursing experience.

Licensure/Certification:

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or holds a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of SC. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.

Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of the professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide on-going patient care. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skill in preparing and maintaining records and writing reports. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, hospital, medical staff and the public. Ability to analyze situations and apply critical thinking. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
