Job summary

Los Alamos Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical-Surgical unit in New Mexico. Join a cohesive team delivering patient-centered care and opportunities for professional growth.

Applicants should hold a NM or Compact State RN license and an ADN; BSN preferred. BLS is required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care within 30 days of hire are preferred. Schedule: PRN on call; weekends/holidays rotate.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred but not required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS and Handle with Care preferred but must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current New Mexico or Compact State RN license and possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Education: Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred, Associates required
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred, but must have within 30 days of hire.

Schedule: PRN On Call, Rotating Weekends and Holidays
