Job summary

Mercy’s Neurology 8 East unit seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for day shift. You will deliver direct patient care, perform assessments, coordinate with care teams, document thoroughly, and uphold Mercy’s patient-centered approach.

Ideal candidates have an ADN/ Diploma or BSN with an active Missouri RN license and BLS. New grads are welcomed; sign-on bonuses are offered for experienced and new graduates.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active Registered Nurse license in Missouri or compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire).

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical 8 East, PT, Day

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Weekday, Day Shift | 7:00AM-7:00PM

Sign-On Bonus

• Experienced Nurses: Up to $20,000
• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $10,000

About The Unit

Neurology 8 East cares for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Nurses gain valuable experience with complex neuro assessments, safety-focused care, and close collaboration with neurology providers and therapy teams.

About The Role

The Neurology RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, documentation, and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care consistent with Mercy’s mission and values.

This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy clinical complexity, teamwork, and continuous skill development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
