Job summary

St. Francis Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care on the Medical/Surgical Unit, following the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

You will document care, monitor patient status including cardiac status, collaborate with physicians, and educate patients and families. Requirements include a valid RN license in California, BLS on hire, ACLS preferred, BSN preferred, and prior acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Valid California RN license required.
• BLS certificate upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS certificate upon hire and maintained (preferred).
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
