Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health’s Johnson 3 unit is seeking an experienced RN for Med Surg Telemetry on weekend incentive nights. The 32-bed telemetry unit cares for stroke, cardio-pulmonary and infectious patients with a team-based approach within an evidence-based framework.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, med administration, care planning with physicians, and patient/family education to maximize outcomes. BLS and MA RN license are required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current license to practice as an RN in Massachusetts.
• BLS certification required.
• Telemetry experience or completion of Basic Arrhythmia Recognition within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments, administer medications and observe progress.

Registered Nurse Med Surg Telemetry Weekend Incentive Nights 24 hours

Colleagues in Weekend Incentive positions will be required to work 45 weekends per year and will receive a weekend incentive program bonus.

About The Job

Come work for our team! Johnson 3 is an exciting 32 bed medical telemetry unit that uses evidence-based practice to compassionately and expertly care for patients with stroke, cardio-pulmonary disorders, and acute infections including sepsis. We are the designated stroke unit that is providing exciting opportunities for growing our bedside neurological assessment skills. Our staff uses a comprehensive team approach in caring for our patient population where we pride ourselves in creating a positive work environment.

The services we provide include patient education such as diabetes teaching, congestive heart failure checklists, continuing care for acute blood clots, respiratory care, comprehensive stroke care, and discharge planning instructions in regards to the specific admitting diagnosis. Our new telemetry monitoring system allows staff to carefully assess for cardiac arrhythmias (chronic or acute) during the patient’s stay and treat such arrythmias accordingly, as well as complete care of the patient with self-limiting and chronic conditions. Johnson 3 generally accepts patients ranging from 18 years of age or older with stable cardiac and medical conditions.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Inpatient Team, you will be responsible for the following:

• Complete assessments, administer medications, wound treatments, observes patient’s progress and evaluates therapies for clinical outcomes and effectiveness
• Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop an optimal health care strategy plan for each individual patient
• Support and educate patients and their loves ones to achieve maximum outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Basic telemetry experience or successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Care of the telemetry patient required within 6 months of hire

Pay Range

$37.00 - $84.71

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
