Job summary

St. Francis Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical unit.

You will provide safe patient care using the nursing process, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physicians on changes in conditions and treatment responses. The role requires an active RN license in California, BLS, ACLS certificates, and whether ventilator management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Communicate with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
