CHOC in Orange, CA is seeking an experienced OR RN to join our surgical team. This full-time position requires at least 1 year of circulating experience in pediatrics or adults, with an 11am start and 12-hour shifts.

Graduation from an accredited nursing program and California RN licensure are required, with BSN expected within 2 years. ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are preferred to support high-quality, family-centered care.

Job Summary

Pay Range

Minimum $56.96 Midpoint $74.05 Maximum $91.14

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience Required: Minimum of one (1) year of acute care nursing experience OR nine (9) months of acute care nursing experience in a pediatric setting. Preferred: One (1) year acute care nursing in a pediatric inpatient hospital. Education Required: Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing; Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) required within two (2) years of hire. Specialized Skills Required: Knowledge of and ability to provide appropriate family-centered patient care, based upon age appropriateness, cultural and spiritual needs. Excellent customer satisfaction skills. Effective communication skills. Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely and organized manner. Ability to work collaboratively and in a positive manner with others. Ability to prepare timely and accurate documentation and reports. Ability to perform work according to CHOC policies and procedures, professional standards of care and applicable laws. Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in response to unexpected changes in work load/staffing. Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards, care with sensitivity and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology; promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; and understand and, exceed customer expectations. Licensure Required: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Registered Nurse - California (RN) Preferred: Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)

Work Environments - Functional Demand:

Medium - High energy level Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient) .
